The First Post!!
Hi! I’m so glad you found your way to my little corner of the internet.
I’m Kimber, a 33-year-old entrepreneur, designer, and (most importantly) mama from Philadelphia. Owning a business has always been a dream of mine but I wasn’t exactly sure what I wanted to do. I dabbled in blogging, tried the influencer thing, and even briefly ran my own freelance marketing biz. But I wasn’t passionate about any of it. Then my daughter came along.
Liliana (or Lily) was born right as the world shut down from COVID. What a weird time to think back on, right? Anyway, being out of work and quarantined I needed to find something to do with my time. So, me and Lily played dress up. I would put her in the cutest outfits I could come up with and do mini photo shoots throughout the house. That’s when I realized – cute baby clothes are expensive. And just like that it clicked; I knew what I wanted to do.
I opened Lily Rose Co. in the summer of 2020 with the intention of providing affordable baby fashion to moms like me. But, after a while, just ordering wholesale items from places like Alibaba and DH Gate didn’t fulfill me. I needed something that was my own. So, I pulled out my (unused at the time) Cricut machine and started crafting my very own t-shirts. With that, my brand was born.
Since then, it’s been a whirlwind with plenty of pivots – both in the shop and in life. My son was born, I introduced boys’ (and eventually mom and dad) styles to the site, renamed and rebranded, switched print methods (a few times), and everything else in between. There’s been good times and bad times – and through it all my little shop has grown into so much more than I had ever dreamed of.
Now we’re growing again. This time in a different way. One of my new year resolutions was to connect with you all on a more personal level – showing the woman behind the brand – and I created this blog to do just that. I’ll be posting behind the scenes, talking about motherhood, and sharing tips on navigating the small biz life. Of course, I’ll also sprinkle in some fun – sneak peeks, style tips, DIYs and much more.
Get ready, 2024 is going to be one for the books!
xoxo,Kimber
